Grandparents Day Memory Book
I have added a new product in my TPT store.
The product is a great Grandparent Day activity for students to with their grandparent or other special person. I designed this memory book in a way for students to complete it in or out of the classroom. When we host our Grandparents Day event at school, the grandparents (or special person) come to our classroom. Our goal is to have an activity for them to complete with their child. I have used this activity the last couple of years. The grandparents and special guest have provided good feedback about these books.
Memory Book Pages
I created the pages as questionnaire sheets. Each book has one page labeled for the student and one for the grandparent (or special person). The questions asked relate to past and present. Each question is geared towards comparing the past and present with a grandparent. I added a questionnaire sheet that would also incorporate math skills. I wanted to make sure that the activity addressed as many standards as possible. We always take advantage of any opportunity we can to reinforce skills our students need. This product aligns to many state and district standards. This activity implements several reading, writing, math, and social studies standards in grades 2nd -4th.
Memory Book Cover Choices
I love offering choices. Therefore, I have included two color theme options. Many times students do not have a grandparent but will invite another special person on their behalf (such as an uncle, aunt, etc.). I have noticed that my second graders have an issue when those individuals are referred to as their grandparent. They quickly point out to me that this is their aunt, uncle etc. This is why I have created pages that are labeled “special person” instead of grandparent. I make several special person booklets to have on hand. My students have commented about how nice it is to have a special person book.
I included the link to this product above, if you are interested. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me at mastermindcrafter2@gmail.com I look forward to hearing from you.
